About DWD
There are effective treatments and self-help skills to deal with depression. Dealing with Depression (DWD) is meant for teens who have been coping with depressed mood. This resource teaches a set of skills you can apply to your own life to overcome depression.
DWD is intended for:
- teens with depressed mood
- concerned adults who want to help a depressed teen
- other teens who want to help a friend or family member
This resource is meant to provide teens with accurate information about depression. It is not a psychological or medical treatment, and is not a replacement for treatment where this is needed. If expert assistance or treatment is needed, the services of a competent professional should be sought.
This online resource is based on and complementary to Dealing with Depression: Antidepressant Skills for Teens (Bilsker, Gilbert, Worling & Garland, 2005). This self-care guide is available in French and English in print or as a writeable PDF at:
